Weekly Newsletter

Dear Families,

Welcome back! I hope everyone had a lovely half-term break.

Staff have been busy over the past week completing a range of training during our INSET days, with three days of training taking place at Park and Hill Campuses and one day at Manor Campus. These opportunities are valuable in supporting staff development and ensuring we continue to build on the quality of provision across the school.

It has been lovely to welcome students back and see everyone settling back into their familiar routines.

I am also pleased to share that we have established a new Diversity, Equality, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) Working Party, bringing together staff representatives from all three campuses. The group will be looking at how we can continue to develop and strengthen our approach to diversity, equality, inclusion and belonging across the school, identifying opportunities to make improvements and ensure that everyone in our school community feels valued, included and supported.

I look forward to sharing further updates as this important work develops.

Lastly, a reminder that Parents Evening will be taking place next week across all Campuses. The Hill Campus are also hosting a Careers and Transition Fair open to all campuses. Details are below and we look forward to seeing you there.

Sherwood Hill Campus

News from Leadership Team

Welcome back to all our students! We hope you all had a lovely half-term break. Over the holidays, a new covered walkway has been installed, which will help to keep everyone dry during those rainy autumn drop-offs.

Despite it being a shortened week, students have enjoyed exploring Bonfire Night through a range of activities in their classrooms. The Primary and Secondary choirs also enjoyed a firework-themed singing session, and students rounded off the week with their regular music therapy sessions on Friday.

A reminder that Parents’ Evening will take place next Tuesday and Wednesday. Our Careers Fair will also be taking place on Tuesday alongside Parents’ Evening. We look forward to welcoming you to join us to take some time to visit the fair and explore the opportunities available.

We look forward to sharing our usual updates next week when our students are back for a full week.

News from the Leadership Team

It has been lovely to welcome everyone back to school after the half-term break, and we hope that all our families enjoyed the opportunity to spend some time together over half-term.

Although it has been a short week for students, with just two days in school, it has been a busy one for our staff. The other three days have been dedicated to training and professional development, helping our teams to build on their knowledge and skills so that we can continue to provide the very best support for our pupils.

It has been wonderful to see the children and young people settling back into their familiar routines, and we are looking forward to a full week together next week!

We look forward to sharing our usual updates next week when our students are back for a full week.

Sherwood Manor Campus

News from the Leadership Team

It’s been a lovely week back at Sherwood Manor Campus this week. Students have been working hard on their writing skills and improving their reading skills. Students have continued learning about measurements with some using a ruler to measure shapes in centimetres and inches. In Albatross class, students ended the week making a firework using a balloon and autumn leaves. Other students have been learning about Bonfire Night and made firework pictures out of paint and salt. In Hawk class, they had a blast acting out different types of animals - the classroom was full of lions and elephants and frogs! In assembly, everyone celebrated and learnt about Diwali.  This half-term we are looking forward to all students starting drama sessions as part of the creativity curriculum.
