Volunteering and Work Experience

Volunteering

At Sherwood Foundation School, we welcome people wishing to work as volunteers at the school. We have a range of opportunities including supporting interventions such as rebound therapy, intervention groups and lunch clubs, supporting community visits, and supporting us to keep our grounds (particularly at our Sherwood Manor Campus).

Interested parties need to make an appointment to visit our sites or a specific Campus and have a tour. All volunteers need to have a Child and Adult Enhanced DBS Disclosure completed before they commence volunteering. Some prefer to do some volunteering prior to deciding whether they wish to apply for a post in school, this often proves to be a successful way to find out whether working at one of our Sherwood Campuses is for you!

Work Experience & Work Placements

We welcome people who are looking for work experience or work placements whilst at school and university, however we can only manage a certain number at any one time, so please try to make your applications well in advance so we can offer you what you are hoping for.  We can offer placements for those wishing to work with children and young people with SEND as education practitioners and or in therapy roles.

For further information. please contact the office at the Campus you are interested in working at.
